Classic Pitcher Margaritas

Tequila Tuesday anyone?! Whether it's Cinco De Mayo or not, Classic Pitcher Margaritas are always a good idea!

I have been having such a blast doing more entertaining (did you catch my bohemian bash on instagram this weekend?!) and party content that I knew I wanted to share a fun pitcher drink that is great for the warm months ahead of us. If there is one classic pitcher cocktail that I want you to know how to make, its classic pitcher margaritas!

We recently finished up a few projects in the back yard (totally rental friendly btw!) and my mind is already in outdoor entertaining mode. My dear old Dad was nice enough to come by last week and help us with some projects. We laid some brick pavers in a super muddy part of the yard and made it a total hang out area. The little lounge area has two comfy arms chairs, a coffee table and a whole outdoor couch. I already see myself spending so much time there this summer. I'm really good at handling the heat so I seriously love to spend every minute outside during the summer. I'm already planning for a little Mexican get together around Cinco De Mayo and a very belated housewarming party!

The last few two weeks we have been shooting tons of client work, content for the blog and instagram and just in general getting the house spic and span for lots of shoots. I never in my life thought my home would be a 'set' but it so many ways it feels like one. I have been thinking about this a ton lately. I'm sure it drives Jared nuts that I have probably more dishes and glassware than clothes and shoes combined. Organization is one of my goals for the next month or so! It just takes so much time! I have dreams of owning a little studio that I can keep everything neatly together in. It seems crazy now but its always good to have future goals for the season right?!

Side note: how are you guys feeling about summer?! Are you ready? Are you dreading it?

I have a ton of brighter, summery type of content this week so hopefully you're ready! The whole season goes by too fast anyways!

I know summer technically starts on June 23rd but Cinco De Mayo always feels like the unintentional start to summer. By than California is usually in full blown shorts and tank top weather. Whats your favorite thing to make on Cinco De Mayo?! I am totally going to whip up a batch of blackened fish tacos and this classic green chili queso! Coming up this week we have a fun Mexican fruit salad and a jump batch of guacamole recipe for all of your entertaining needs.

But first things first... MARGS! Lots of them! I mean, you just gotta have them okay?!

These margs are no frill, no crazy juice just straight up tequila, fresh lime juice, cointreau, and agave if you like them a little sweeter!

Make sure you've got yourself a great citrus juicer! I use this one. A large pitcher and whatever you do, don't put ice in the batch! You will water down your pitcher and will be leftover with mediocre margs. No one wants that! I love to chill the batch a few hours before serving or serve them with crushed ice inside the glass!

Classic Pitcher Margaritas

3 1/2 Cups of good tequila
2 1/2 Cups of freshly squeezed lime juice
1 Cup of Cointreau or triple sec
1/2 - 1 Cup of agave nectar
Crushed Ice
Kosher Salt

*Roughly makes 6-8 margaritas

In a shallow dish pour out 1/4 cup of kosher salt. Rim 6-8 low ball glasses with a lime wedge and dip in kosher salt.

In a large pitcher add all ingredients and stir for 30 seconds. *Note the agave nectar is totally to your preference! Some days I like a sweeter margarita and put the full cup of agave and other days I only like a small amount. Start out with 1/2 cup and taste test your way up.

Place the margarita batch into the fridge for 1-2 hours before serving or fill glasses with crushed ice. Serve!
